With the premiere of the new yo-yo series Ranch approaching, Koktejl.sk had the opportunity to look behind the scenes of filming and talk to actor Ivan Krup, who will appear in the last three parts of this highly anticipated series. Although his character only appears at the end, will have a significant impact on the plot. In the interview, Krúpa told us more about his role and experiences from the filming.
„I think the character is quite distinctive,” says Ivan Krúpa about his role in the Ranch series. “He’s such a curmudgeon again, as is usual in my case. One that influences and moves the story in some way. It is very nice and pleasant,” added the actor. Krúpa plays a judge who gets involved in dirty deals with the owner of the ranch, played by Eva Matejková, and her son. “He is a judge who hangs up on the owner and makes a deal with her failed son. It’s hilarious,” revealed the actor.
The Ranch series is full of scenes with horses, but Ivan’s character as a judge does not directly participate in them. “I am a judge, but not the one who says ‘the law comes with me.’ I’m a normal judge there, who just hangs around those horses,” says Ivan Krúpa. Despite this, he has extensive experience with horses. “I happen to have a lot of experience with horses. My poor father was a vet and when I applied for acting, I knew that there was also horse riding lessons. So I wanted to be a little ahead of the curve. Normally serious, I can ride a horse,” the actor added with a laugh.
Filming took place in an environment where there is dust, hay and various allergens, which also caused problems for some actors. But Ivan Krúpa avoided these worries. “That is the problem of the current generation,” the actor noted with a smile when we asked him if he had a problem with allergies. “Allergies were somehow not in fashion then. Back then, the woman basically chose a healthy male. So I’m still living in the world I was used to living in and luckily I’m avoiding all these things. Maybe also due to the natural immunity that a person has acquired,” he explained. You can learn more in our video report.
