
The GNR closed an egg production farm, registered a crime for falsifying egg stamps and seized 16,354 animals in an action carried out in October to combat illegal practices with animals for human consumption.
In a statement released this Saturday, it details that, during the operation, 307 inspection actions were carried out aimed at breeders and 34 vehicles were inspected, with 97 infraction notices being drawn up and the crime of forgery of technical notation registered, for falsifying the stamps placed on the eggs. .
16,354 farm animals were also seized, including chickens, cattle, goats, sheep and pigs, and a farm that produced eggs for the national market was closed.
Called “Illegal Livestock Farming”, the operation aimed to “combat illegal practices associated with animals with livestock status intended for human consumption, as well as guaranteeing animal welfare throughout all stages of production”.
During the month of October, it involved 518 soldiers from the Nature and Environment Protection Service (SEPNA) and focused on livestock farms, warehouses and grouping centers that carry out the breeding of livestock species and animal identification, according to with the National Animal Information and Registration System (SNIRA).
