The Corinthians women’s team beat Palmeiras 1-0, last Friday (15/11), in the final of the Campeonato Paulista Feminino. However, not everything is rosy, as on Saturday morning (11/16), striker Jaqueline was involved in a car accident.

Jaqueline was involved in an accident this Saturday morning (11/16), in the Tatuapé neighborhood, east side of São Paulo. According to the GE investigation, the vehicle driven by the player hit another car, and soon after ran over a 40-year-old woman.
The athlete was restrained by people passing by the accident site and ended up being attacked by another woman. Exams were carried out and did not indicate Jaqueline’s use of alcohol or drugs.
The person who was run over was rescued and taken to Tatuapé Hospital, but his condition was not reported. The incident was registered by the 30th Police District of Tatuapé as a negligent bodily injury while driving a vehicle, in addition to the driver fleeing the scene of the accident.

What did Corinthians say?
In an official note sent, Corinthians expressed solidarity with the victim and commented on the accident.
“Sport Club Corinthians Paulista became aware of the car accident involving athlete Jaqueline this Saturday morning, outside working hours, in the Tatuapé region, in São Paulo. The athlete was at the IML, underwent an alcohol test and the result was negative. She was also at the 30th DP in Tatuapé, where she gave a statement and was released by the police officer on duty. The club offers solidarity and wishes a speedy recovery to the accident victim“, announced the club.

Who is Jacqueline?
Jaqueline started her career at Portuguesa in 2016. Soon after, she moved to Santos, where she played in the 2017 and 2018 seasons, until moving to São Paulo. For the Morumbi club, he played from 2019 to 2021, playing 75 matches, with 25 goals and one assist.
Her good performance led to her being signed by Corinthians in 2022. To date, she has played 104 games, with 29 goals and nine assists.
For the Brazilian team, he played in the SheBelieves Cup, as well as in a friendly match. He has six games, with one goal scored.
