Alckmin recommends acupuncture to reduce market stress

In an interview with Folha de S.PauloAlckmin said that the rise in the US currency is “transitional” and the distrust of the financial market will be calmed when it becomes clear that, according to him, the fiscal package will have medium and long-term effects.

“When it becomes clear that the government will comply with the fiscal framework and is also taking short and medium-term measures to control spending, these exchange rate issues will normalize”these.

According to the vice-president, the measures announced by the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, are very positive. He also said that they will bring more tax justice.

“You will relieve anyone who earns up to R$5,000, strictly speaking up to R$7,000 will also benefit, and it will allow high salaries to have a greater contribution. So, you have 2 projects with different objectives. One, comply with the fiscal framework, zero deficit. The other is tax justice. You relieve lower income brackets and compensate this amount with higher income brackets”these.

Regarding doubts regarding approval in Congress, Alckmin said that the government has had good results and the project should pass in the Houses.
