Almost 48 million people intend to start a business in the next two years in Brazil. And more than half (54.6%) of these people are women. The data comes from the 2023 Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) and illustrates women’s desire to pursue their own career paths. The motivations for this are countless: from making a living and building wealth to continuing a family tradition, leaving a legacy or making a difference in the world.

Cleusa Maria da Silva, founder of Sodiê

Claudia Consalter, co-founder of Orthodontics

Brazil is one of the countries with the most dentists in the world: there are more than 400,000 professionals, according to data from the Federal Council of Dentistry. It was natural, therefore, for businesses linked to the sector to emerge in the country. One of them started in 2002, in Londrina. It was founded by five friends and already has 300 units spread across the country. In 2023, it had revenues of almost R$400 million and has a plan to double (units and revenues) by 2025. Mariane Morelli, co-founder of Supley

Founded in 2006, in Matão, in the interior of São Paulo, by childhood friends, it is the largest food and nutritional supplement laboratory in Brazil and Latin America, owner of the Max Titanium and Probiótica brands, leader in sales of whey protein and creatine in the country. The goal was to reach revenues of R$1 billion and leave the ‘house’ ready for an IPO as soon as the opportunity arises.
