How was the race?
Starting in second place after being punished for having hindered George Russell in qualifying, Max Verstappen ignored the loss of pole position and started very well, overtaking Russell in the first corner. The Mercedes driver also lost his place to McLaren’s Landro Norris.
The race had a series of incidents. In the first round, Hulkenberg hit Ocon, who hit Colapinto. The last two had to leave the race and the Safety Car was forced to enter.
The restart was given on the fifth lap. Norris, in second place, was putting pressure on Verstappen, but the four-time champion remained in the lead. On lap 30, a yellow flag was issued on the straight due to a falling rear view mirror. Norris did not slow down and was given a 10 second penalty.

Bottas went over the rear view mirror and the debris punctured Hamilton and Sainz’s tires. After the incidents, the Safety Car entered the track so that the rear view mirror could be cleaned from the track.
The restart was given on lap 40 with Verstappen still in front and Norris right behind. Soon after, another Safety Car after Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez spun on the track.
Once again the drivers had to restart, with Verstappen in front. Norris had to comply with a 10-second stop and go stop for failing to slow down at the yellow flag during the mirror incident. As a result, he fell to last place.
With just a few laps remaining, Norris made a recovery run and managed to reach tenth place to score points, in addition to achieving the fastest lap of the race, earning another point.
Verstappen calmly led the Red Bull car to victory, with Ferrari’s Leclerc in second and McLaren’s Oscar Piastri in third.
The result of the race left the Constructors’ World Championship open. McLaren is still ahead, but Ferrari has closed the gap. The title will be decided at the Abu Dhabi GP, on December 8th.
