Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove, who collapsed on the field in Sunday’s duel (1st) against Inter Milan, for the Italian Championship, showed signs of improvement this Monday (2). According to information from the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Edoardo Bove was extubated after spending the night in the ICU. The athlete is conscious and has already spoken to nurses and family.
“I’m fine,” said the player to his parents, Giovanni and Tanya, and his girlfriend, Martina, as soon as they arrived at Careggi University Hospital, in Florence. According to the Italian newspaper, Bove did not suffer neurological or cardiological damage. The 22-year-old player is expected to undergo further tests this Monday.
The midfielder fell to the pitch in the 16th minute of the first half of the match between Fiorentina and Inter Milan. Players from both teams expressed despair at the situation and asked for quick medical attention.
Edoardo Bove was treated by doctors and taken away by ambulance. During the way to the hospital, the athlete showed signs of recovery, before being sedated. Fiorentina should update the player’s clinical status this Monday.
