What’s missing for Botafogo to be champion of the Brasileirão?

Only Palmeiras (2nd place, with 70 points) can surpass Botafogo. Palmeiras has two games to play, as does Bota. Inter and Fortaleza have three.

On December 4th (Wednesday), Botafogo visits Inter and Palmeiras visits Cruzeiro. If Botafogo wins and Palmeiras draws, the title goes to the Rio team. The same if Botafogo draws and Palmeiras loses. Verdão faces Cruzeiro, at Mineirão, this Wednesday, at 9:30 pm.

Regarding Palmeiras, Alviverde is forced to score three points out of six to reach a Botafogo that no longer scores points. Two draws for Palmeiras and two defeats for Botafogo are not enough for the São Paulo team.

If Botafogo wins four points out of the six still competing, they will be champions, regardless of other results.

The mathematics and statistics department at UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) calculates that Botafogo has a 75% chance of becoming Brazilian champion.
