New protests, more violence: Thousands for pro-EU course in Georgia

Tbilisi – During pro-European protests with thousands of people in the South Caucasus republic of Georgia, violent clashes broke out again between demonstrators and security forces on Saturday night. Pro-Western President Salome Zurabishvili spoke of terror against the demonstrators. Russia-friendly Prime Minister Iraqi Kobachidze, on the other hand, praised the executive branch for its “successful battle against liberal fascism in our country.”
