This specimen grows best in a place with plenty of light, however it will also do well in partial shade. That’s why it is known as a potted plant perfect for offices.
Sansevieria prefers a light and airy substrate, so it is worth adding perlite, gravel, pebbles or thick bark.. Let’s also remember to provide it with adequate drainage. Excess moisture in the soil contributes to health problems, such as root rot and fungal diseases.
We water this potted plant only when its root ball dries completely. It is enough to do it once a week, or even less often (it will survive without water for 2-3 weeks). We pour water straight into the ground, taking care of the leaves. We cannot soak them, but it is worth wiping them from dust from time to time.
“Mother-in-law’s tongue” does not need large amounts of nutrients. It is quite enough if we will apply long-acting fertilizer once a year – in spring.
