Palmeiras failed to win the Brazilian Championship title and are now planning for next season. One of the club’s targets is striker Thomas Cuello, from Athletico, who has already defined the price for the Argentine’s sale.

What value does Athletico ask for Cuello?
According to Canal “3 Pontos”, an Athletico news specialist, Palmeiras is interested in signing 24-year-old Cuello. Furacão asks for around four million euros (around R$25 million). Cuello’s contract with the Paraná club runs until 2026.
In February 2022, Athletico paid 2.5 million dollars (12.8 million at current prices) for 50% of the economic rights to the 21-year-old player, which at the time became the biggest purchase in the club’s history, before to be surpassed by Canobbio.

Who is Tomás Cuello?
Cuello was revealed by Atlético Tucumán-ARG, where he joined the professional squad in 2017. He spent two seasons with the Argentine team before being loaned to Red Bull Bragantino. In Bragança, he played for one season and stood out.
However, he ended up not being bought by Massa Bruta and Athletico agreed to hire him in 2022. With Furacão, he was two-time champion of Paraná in 2023 and 2024.
