Poland and France are on the same side when it comes to European security and a just peace in Ukraine. According to the PAP agency, he announced this on Thursday Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk after negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron in Warsaw, reports TASR.
Tusk called the current moment in world history a turning point. According to him, the conversations with Macron confirmed that Warsaw and Paris are like “one team” on issues such as the security and competitiveness of the European Union, efforts to achieve a just peace in Ukraine and the situation after the end of the war.
In connection with possible peace negotiations aimed at ending the war, Tusk specified that and Macron agreed on the presence of Ukraine in any negotiations, which relate to peace. Macron added that the only possible peace in the war in Ukraine is a “sustainable” peace.
Warsaw does not plan to send its soldiers to Ukraine after the conclusion of the ceasefireTusk revealed. “Decisions regarding Polish activities will be made in Warsaw and only in Warsaw,” he declared.
The French president noted that recent reports of Moscow’s interference in elections in Georgia and Romania have shown that Europe needs to strengthen its capacities to repel hybrid attacks.
The Polish Prime Minister also announced the start during the press conference preparation of a new Polish-French friendship agreement.
Earlier in the day, the AFP agency reported that Emmanuel Macron will cut short his visit to Poland to return to Paris early to appoint a new prime minister.
