The Agro Raízes project aimed to promote the sustainable growth of family farming, with special attention to training farmers in managing their businesses and improving the marketing of their products. The initiative was born from Sicredi’s desire to get closer to the agricultural community and bring financial education to its areas of activity, being structured with the collaboration of Empaer, which brought the technical knowledge essential to the success of the action.

During the last few months, the project was divided into three fundamental stages: the first consisted of meetings with the community, in which Sicredi established a direct connection with local producers; the second focused on training on financial management, covering topics such as cost control, pricing and marketing strategies for agricultural products; and, in the third and final stage, the fair provided the direct sale of products grown by participating farmers.Sicredi and Empaer hold the Agro Raízes fair: strengthening family farming in Pontes e Lacerda

Ana Cristina, manager of Agência Sicredi de Pontes e Lacerda, commented on the impact and importance of the project for the community: “Agro Raízes emerged from the genuine desire to be closer to rural communities. This project goes beyond the technical part; it is a clear demonstration that we believe in our purpose of developing the communities in which we operate. Our mission is to strengthen the importance of organic products and how family farming contributes to the development of the economy of Pontes e Lacerda. We are happy with this fair, which was a big step towards giving visibility to what is produced here, allowing our members to purchase fresh, quality products, directly from the field to the table.”

With a large presence of visitors, essential for the success of this action, reinforcing Sicredi’s commitment to the community and strengthening family farming. The fair also marked the beginning of a new cycle of partnerships and projects, with the expectation of expanding Agro Raízes’ actions in 2025, serving more communities and producers in the region.
