Santos’ detailed budget for 2025 was delivered by the board to the club’s advisors, and bad news is already emerging for Peixe – it seems that the black and white team’s deficit will be almost R$90 million.

On the other hand, it is possible that the sale of athletes will raise around 100 million reais, resolving the doubt and balancing the club’s finances. Even so, the budget would be short, precisely when the Vila Belmiro team returned to Série A and the Copa do Brasil.

The situation escalated with the payment of interest on bank loans, in addition to other accumulated debts that made Santos set aside around R$66 million to pay them off. In addition, contract amortization and asset depreciation are included.

If it weren’t for the debts that have been piling up for years, the club would close 2024 with an operating surplus of more than R$28 million, hidden among the calculations to be paid off.

Last year, negotiations in the transfer window yielded more than R$200 million to Peixe, with half of the value just from the sale of Marcos Leonardo to Benfica. In addition to him, Jean Lucas, Dodi, John, Joaquim, Weslley Patati, Lucas Pires and Gabriel Pirani left.

The 100 million expected for 2025 includes the possible departure of Jair Cunha, defender quoted by Botafogo, Atalanta (Italy) and Porto (Portugal).
