Commission should move forward with LDO and 2025 Budget from Tuesday

The Mixed Budget Committee (CMO) is expected to vote next Tuesday (17) on the draft Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) of 2025.

The project needs to be assessed before analyzing next year’s Budget.

The LDO defines the general rules for preparing the budget, which is the budget itself and must be assessed the following day, on Wednesday (18).

After being approved by the committee, budgetary matters must still be analyzed in a joint session of deputies and senators. The expectation is that the Congress session will be held on Thursday (19).

Congressmen are in a hurry to complete the votes. Work in the Legislature should end on Friday (20), as the parliamentary recess begins on December 23.

By rule, provided for in the Constitution, the LDO should be voted on by July, before the mid-year parliamentary recess. This year, the dispute over the rules and payment of parliamentary amendments postponed the analysis of the project.
