The agent revealed that he will need a period of around 60 days to feel ‘more or less calm’ after the surgical procedures carried out on his head
The president (PT) commented on his recovery and the next steps in his agenda after being discharged from the Sírio-Libanês hospital in São Paulo this Sunday (15). “I never think I’m going to die, but I’m afraid,” said the president, who revealed that he will need a period of around 60 days to feel “more or less calm” after the surgical procedures carried out on his head. Despite this, Lula has a ministerial meeting scheduled to take place before the end of the year. During a press conference, the president’s medical team presented details about his health status. Lula, demonstrating optimism, stated that he is “whole and more willing to work”. The president took advantage of the moment to reveal that the true severity of his health condition only became clear after surgery to treat intracranial bleeding.
Lula explained that the bleeding was the result of a blow to the head, the result of a domestic accident that occurred in October. Although he experienced headaches, he initially attributed the symptoms to sun exposure. However, when he noticed other signs, such as slow movement and reddened eyes, he decided to seek medical attention. “I was a little scared by the growth in the amount of liquid in my head and the urgency with which they asked me to move. Arriving here, I don’t even know how long it took them to perform the surgery,” he said. Upon arriving at the hospital, doctors were concerned about the results of the CT scan, which led to the need for surgical intervention. The president emphasized the importance of the medical team in his recovery and expressed his gratitude for the care he received. Despite being in the recovery process, he still reports feeling pain in his head.
After being discharged, he will recover in São Paulo before returning to the federal capital, Brasília. The president also addressed his intentions for the end of year festivities. He mentioned that he is still evaluating his participation in the Natal dos Catadores event, which takes place in São Paulo. Furthermore, Lula confirmed that he will not travel during the Christmas and New Year holidays, choosing to spend these dates at home, with his family.
