Cleaning the toilet can be done yourself using simple techniques and home remedies. This can be done in several different ways. Today we will tell you how to deal with this popular problem without the use of chemicals or plumbing.

All homeowners face the unpleasant situation of a clogged toilet at some point in their lives. No matter what’s clogging your toilet, it can be more than just a minor nuisance, especially if you don’t know what to do. Remember that panicking and regularly flushing the toilet will only make the situation worse.

Vinegar and baking soda

  • Pour about half a cup of baking soda into the clogged toilet and wait a few minutes.
  • Then carefully pour in two cups of vinegar. The reaction between the base (baking soda) and the acid (vinegar) should be visible very quickly.

It is important to add the vinegar slowly and carefully, so that the toilet does not overflow.

  • Wait a few more minutes and then flush the toilet to see if the clog is cleared. You may need to repeat the process several times before the blockage is completely cleared.

Vinegar and baking soda will work just as well to unblock and clean a sink drain, as @domesticdarling_ demonstrated on her TikTok.

  • Just add half a cup of baking soda down the drain and cover it with a cup of vinegar. Cover the drain with a cloth and let it act for 10 minutes. Then rinse with hot water.
  • At the end, pour more into the drain half a cup lemon juice, pour hot water again and the drain will be clean and passable.

Use dishwashing detergent

If using plain warm water does not clear the blockage, you can try using slightly warm water with dishwashing liquid. Many liquid dishwashing detergents break down grease, grime, and grease as effectively as when used in a dishwasher.

  • Pour a few drops of dishwashing detergent into the toilet bowl and fill with warm water.
  • Wait about 30 minutes for the product to take effect and then flush the toilet.

Use a toilet brush

This is another strategy for less clogging. Using a toilet brush and pushing it down the drain can often push the blockage down. A back-and-forth motion, similar to using a bell, can also work to clear more severe blockages.

When to change the towel? Then “you have more E. coli bacteria on your face than if you stuck your head in the toilet.”
