Oxxo opens 600 stores after four years of operation in Brazil

With four years of operation in Brazil, the Oxxo local market chain is heading towards the end of the year with 600 stores in the country. According to the company, the number is a “milestone” for the company, which is present in 24 cities in the state of São Paulo and employs more than 4 thousand people in its workforce.

For the next five years, the Brazilian market will continue to be FEMSA’s main focus for organic expansion.

Furthermore, the strategy of Grupo Nós – owner of the Oxxo and Shell Selec brands – is to continue expanding and consolidating its operations in the State of São Paulo.

The CEO of Grupo Nós, Hugo Curiel, says that the Oxxo format makes up a segment that still has great growth potential in Brazil. “For this reason, we focused our strategy in these first years of operation on rapid and efficient expansion, and we will continue like this, following our long-term planning”, he states.

The strategy reinforces the long-term consolidation of the format in Brazil, a priority location for the brand’s expansion in Latin America for Femsa, which already has more than 20 thousand stores in five countries, with Brazil being one of the largest in number of stores, after from Mexico.
