He issued direct threats against Kurdish rebels in Syria on Wednesday, as reports of a troop build-up on the Turkey-Syria border mount and analysts say it is a harbinger of an invasion.
“Kurdish fighters will either say goodbye to their weapons, or they will be buried in Syria with their weapons,” the Turkish president said while speaking at a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) Central Committee, reiterating Ankara’s position that the Kurdish YPG militia must be disarmed.
“We are happy every time we see a free Syrian flag next to our own crescent in Aleppo, Damascus, Hama, Homs, Daraa and Manbij,” Turkish President Erdogan said.

Turkey’s only goal is to ensure peace, tranquility and stability in every centimeter of the region, starting with Syria, the Turkish president insisted.
Earlier, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said the armed forces killed 21 YPG-PKK fighters in northern Syria and Iraq.
