In two weeks, Carinthians will be officially asked about their opinion on a ban on new wind turbines. The referendum was initiated by the two opposition parties in the state – the FPÖ and Team Carinthia. The FPÖ has been mobilizing for a long time against the move away from fossil fuels and the expansion of wind turbines, which it castigates as a “defacement of nature”.
