Betting companies received authorization; sector will be regulated from January 1, 2025
Betano obtained the first authorization to operate in the Brazilian betting market under the new sector regulations. The license was granted on this Tuesday (Dec 31, 2024), allowing the company to legally begin operations in the country. Here is the full text from Betano (PDF – 638 kB).
Guilherme Figueiredo, national manager of Betano in Brazil, emphasized the importance of this achievement for the company and the market. “We work in collaboration with local authorities, sharing our international experience and contributing to the development of the regulatory framework,” he stated. He highlighted the intention to continue working with authorities to create a safe and transparent environment in the sector.
Betano also sponsors competitions such as the Brasileirão and the Copa do Brasil, in addition to having Felipe Massa as an ambassador in Brazil. At a global level, the company has partnerships with Conmebol, Uefa, Europa League and Conference League. Recently, it launched the Juntas em Campo program in partnership with Brasileirão Betano, focusing on promoting gender equality.
