A 40-year-old Chinese tourist was shot last Tuesday afternoon (31) while hiking on Mar Casado beach, in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo. According to the Civil Police, the man was the victim of an attempted robbery.
As determined by CNNthe victim reported to the Military Police that she was approached by an armed criminal, around 12 pm, who fired shots in her direction and fled the scene after stealing her cell phone. He was rescued by agents and taken to the Enseada Emergency Care Unit (UPA).
In a statement, Guarujá City Hall reported that the tourist was hit in the left thigh and, after first aid, the medical team found that the shot did not hit noble vessels or bone structures.
The municipal administration also said that “the patient has already been discharged and was accompanied by the PM to follow up with the incident report.”
The case was registered as an attempted robbery of a passerby at the Guarujá Headquarters Police Station.
