Presentation of the final project scheduled for February 2025; project cost increases to 1 billion euros

The project for the new stadium, located in the Pietralata neighborhood, in Rome, is taking shape with the Friedkin family, owners of the club. The presentation of the final project is scheduled for the end of February, as notified by .

The stadium is expected to have a capacity for 62,000 spectators. It will replace the historic Olympic Stadium in Rome, dating from 1953 and with a capacity for more than 70,000 people – but which removes fans from the field due to the athletics track.

The new stadium has a design that includes ecological and sustainable elements. Since the presentation of the feasibility study, in April 2022, the costs of the work have increased substantially: they went from R$570 million to around R$1 billion. The justification is the rise in raw material prices and a review of the architectural structure, which now includes innovative materials and sustainable practices.

The project faces financial, bureaucratic and logistical challenges, such as resolving issues related to parking, access roads and a cycle path on via Livorno. The plan foresees that 50% of spectators use public transport and the other 50% arrive in their own vehicles, aiming to minimize the impact on local traffic.

The goal is to open the stadium in 2027, to celebrate the club’s centenary.
