The Pope appealed to the international community: An important step in the Jubilee year 2025

Pope Francis on Sunday in his address to the pilgrims on Náměstí sv. Petra repeated what he said calling for peace in the world and demanding an end to attacks that victimize civilians. As ANSA reported in its report, the Pope called for continued prayers for peace in Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Myanmar and Sudan.

He appealed to the international community to enforce that humanitarian law be observed in conflicts and civilians and civilian objects will not be the victims of the attacks. He repeated his frequent statement that “war is always defeat, always”.

In the address before this year’s first Sunday prayer, the Angel of the Lord, the Pope he encouraged the faithful to be messengers of hope by spreading the teachings of the Catholic Church and to be always open to God. Faced with the challenges of the contemporary world, the Pope recalled that God always “finds a thousand ways to reach each one of us, wherever we are… and even in the darkest nights of humanity, he is the light that consumes the darkness”.

He also exhorted the faithful to so that they are not afraid to be close to people who suffer, need forgiveness, compassion or reconciliation. He reminded that this attitude of believers is especially important in the Jubilee year 2025.
