The Gulf countries reacted to Iran’s attacks launched against Bahrain and Kuwait during the early hours of Saturday (6). The nations condemned the attacks, saying they could threaten the security of the region.
Os United Arab Emirateswhich has faced repeated Iranian attacks since the start of the war in February, said it strongly condemned Tehran’s attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain.
The attacks constitute a “blatant violation” of the sovereignty of the two countries and a threat to their security, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Already the Egypt called Iran’s actions a “dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region and the entire region.” The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its support for “all measures” taken by Kuwait and Bahrain to “protect their territories and vital facilities.”
A Saudi Arabia classified Iran’s latest attacks as “a threat to regional and international security” and stated that the attacks push the region towards “tension and instability”.
O Qatar joined the wave of condemnation, emphasizing the need to “spare it the repercussions of these unjustified attacks and work towards de-escalation in order to restore regional and international security and stability.”
By calling Iran’s attacks “brutal”, Jordan affirmed “absolute solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Bahrain and the sister State of Kuwait in the face of Iranian aggression”.
Kuwait’s Defense Ministry said it “detected and neutralized” seven ballistic missiles within Kuwaiti airspace at dawn. “They were intercepted over several residential areas, resulting in some debris falling,” the ministry said.
The offensive, which was blamed on Iran, resulted in material damage but no casualties, according to the ministry.
The announcement comes shortly after Bahrain also said it had several drones coming from Iran.
