According to Rui Costa, from the Civil House, the president is reflecting on the changes after appointing Sidônio Palmeira as head of communications
The Minister of the Civil House, stated this Thursday (9.Jan.2025) that the president (PT) will hold its first ministerial meeting of the year on January 21st. But he highlighted that any changes to the Esplanade could be made before that.
In an interview with GloboNewsthe minister stated that Lula has not yet decided on the changes he will make in ministries and that he is still reflecting on the changes, but hinted that the decision will be taken later this month.
“The president is focusing on improving management. He wants to make any changes this month, so that whoever joins can have more time to make the changes that the president expects. So, we will have a ministerial meeting on the 21st and, eventually, changes, if the president so decides, can be made before this ministerial meeting”, stated Rui Costa.
Regarding Secom, the head of the Civil House said that the change occurred because the government is entering a new phase of management. “It’s as if we were finishing the 1st half and entering the 2nd half”, he stated. Read more about the profile of the government’s new communications chief.
