The leader of the Venezuelan opposition, Maria Corina Machado, was detained this Thursday while participating in an anti-Maduro march in Caracas, Venezuela, Reuters reports citing local media. The policy was “violently intercepted” during the demonstration.
Maria Corina Machado, this Thursday in protest in Caracas surrounded by hundreds of supporters, after remaining hidden since August 28th.
More than four months after his last public appearance and on the eve of the presidential inauguration, which both President Nicolás Maduro and the opposition candidate, promise to assume, Machado took to the streets to claim, once again, the opposition’s victory in the elections presidential elections on July 28th.
Dressed in white and waving a Venezuelan flag, Maria Corina Machado arrived at the rally in the commercial district of Chacao in a truck, to much applause.
