On Saturday, January 11, 2025, the ceremony of awarding state honors will take place in the building of the Slovak Philharmonic. Celebrities will receive them from the hands of the Slovak President Petr Pellegrini on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic. The handover was marked by the decision of one of the personalities. As reported, actress Zdena Studenková refused to accept the award from the new head of state. What are his reasons?
“They approached me, I politely thanked them and declined. I have no need to accept this award in the current situation of culture in Slovakia“, the actress explained her move. She alludes to the ongoing problems between the Ministry of Culture and artists, which have flared up again.

By awarding state honors, the President of the Slovak Republic recognizes extraordinary or significant people merits in favor of the Slovak Republic, democracy, defense and security of the state, results of activities or other exceptional actions.
The President can award state decorations at the proposal of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, the Government of the Slovak Republic or at its own discretion. The ceremony will be moderated by Janette Štefánková, informs . The choir of the artistic ensemble Lúčnica and the choir of the Slovak Philharmonic, singer Andrea Zimányiová and Ajna Marosz will perform.
