Explosion in a restaurant in the Czech Republic: Six people died in the fire!

Six people died and another eight were injured in an explosion and fire at the restaurant U Kojota in Most in North Bohemia on Saturday evening. TASR informs about it according to the ČT24 website.

The explosion was caused by a propane-butane bomb, according to initial information from the fire department, the heater overturned and then a fire broke out. It was reported to the fire department on Saturday at 11:17 p.m. “At that time, the restaurant should have been open and there should have been regular guests,” described the editor of Czech Television Petra Musilová.

The first fire units arrived on the scene within minutes. “When the firemen arrived on the scene, the building was fully engulfed in fire and we immediately started rescuing people in front of the building and inside the building,” said fire brigade spokesman Petr Pelikus. The fire was brought under control shortly after 1:00 a.m.

“For now, the circumstances and the cause are being investigated. There are six dead and four seriously injured, two entrances from the adjacent houses were evacuated,” police spokesman Václav Krieger told the Novinky.cz website shortly after two in the morning.

The injured were taken to hospitals in Prague, Ústí nad Labem and in Most. Despite the heavy snowfall, rescue helicopters repeatedly flew in Most at night.
