The measures have been being worked on for months and focus on a model different from that defended by the opposition and foresee the massive promotion of public housing, the limitation of speculation as well as tourist apartments.
Furthermore, the Spanish government also wants to intervene in the market that “does not work”, as house prices have skyrocketed and does not comply with the right to “home for all” provided for in the constitution.
Sánchez will detail the complete plan this Monday, which will include specific legal reforms, with dates and numbers, focusing on the ideas of more affordable housing, promotion of a greater number of affordable rental housing, measures to reduce speculation, control of tourist apartments and helping young people access housing.
