Big change in payment and documents: From June, what will you do without a wallet and queues at the office

A wallet full of documents may soon disappear for good from the pockets of many Czechs. Digital identity and the eDoklady application are gradually changing the way people prove their identity and deal with ordinary official matters. And some things can already be done right from home in a few minutes.

Just a few years ago, it was common to carry your ID card with you all the time and to stand in long queues for many official matters. Today, however, more and more services are moving to the mobile and electronic environment. The eDoklady application allows you to have your ID card directly on your phone and gradually expands the possibilities of use. Many people mainly praise the speed, simplicity and convenience that digital solutions bring.

The mobile phone is gradually replacing the classic wallet

More and more institutions and authorities are accepting electronic documents today. People can use them, for example, when communicating with the state administration or during certain inspections. The advantage is that they always have the document at hand and do not have to carry a plastic card with them. The ability to prove your identity with a mobile phone is one of the biggest changes in recent years.

Gradually, there are also services that can be handled conveniently online from home. Some applications, registrations or the like no longer require a personal visit to the office. Simply log in via digital identity and a few clicks. This saves people time and nerves associated with waiting at counters.

Safety is also a big advantage. Access to the application is usually protected by phone verification or biometric data. If a person loses their mobile, access can be quickly blocked. According to experts, digital documents can be even more secure than classic paper documents in some situations.

The changes will also affect regular payments

In addition to digital documents, non-cash payments and electronic services are also expanding. More and more people pay today and leave their physical wallet at home. Modern technologies thus connect documents, payment cards and other services into one device.

Furthermore, even wider use of digital wallets is expected in the future. For example, other IDs or confirmations needed when dealing with the authorities could be stored in the phone. The mobile phone is thus gradually becoming the main tool for dealing with everyday matters.
