Judge compares Dino to Collor and says that the end of penduricalhos is a political plan

The president of the Union of Magistrates of Brazil, the substitute judge of TRT-5, Cyntia Cordeiro, stated that the compensation payments paid to magistrates, known as penduricalhos, are rights and cannot be seen as privileges. The statement was made in an interview with the newspaper Folha de S.Paulopublished this Tuesday (23).

On February 6, Minister Flávio Dino, of the Federal Supreme Court, ordered all bodies to review the funds paid and suspend those that, without legal basis, are transferred and exceed the limit of the constitutional ceiling. At the time, the member of the Supreme Court gave 60 days for the suspensions to take place.

To the vehicle, Cyntia stated that, by limiting these payments, Dino acted in accordance with a “political project of someone who intends to be a new Collor”.

“Minister Dino is acting as expected, because he is a politician. He is acting in what is best for his interests and not as a minister of the STF. He has a political project and intends to run for President of the Republic. At least that is what is behind the scenes in Brasília. He wants to be the new hunter of maharajas, the new [Fernando] Collor”, he highlighted to the newspaper.

In the interview, the judge argued that, if corrected by the IPCA, the constitutional ceiling would be R$63,600, a difference of 37% in relation to the current value of R$46,300, which would justify the compensation funds to exceed the outdated value.

“All STF ministers have already received these funds that will no longer be paid to the lower courts. Let’s get back to the real discussion, because they are trying to take the attention away from themselves.”

Without mentioning names, Cyntia also compared the assets of Supreme Court ministers, revealed by recent cases in the media involving Daniel Vorcaro and Banco Master.

“Ministers of the STF who have R$150 million to invest in a resort and live on subsidies? They have the office of a wife who received millions from Banco Master. Ministers do not survive on subsidies, they survive on a political plan”, he stated.

To the newspaper, the judge reinforced that all types of privileges in the Judiciary must be combated, but that it is necessary to question what is a privilege and what is an achievement recognized by the committed work of the magistrates.
