Neunkirchen – In the local council election in Neunkirchen on Sunday, the ÖVP narrowly defended first place. The People’s Party got 31.69 percent, which, according to the preliminary final results, meant a minus of 3.52 percentage points compared to the ballot in January 2025. Close behind, second place went to the SPÖ with 31.45 percent (2020: 32.48 percent), the FPÖ also lost and ended up in third place with 19.12 percent (2020: 23.16 percent).
