According to government spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, the American president signed an executive order to send agents to the site in order to focus on security and stop illegal and ‘destabilizing’ immigration.
Trump did not wait for the first interview since his inauguration to speak out
The President of the United States, will send 1500 additional troops to the border with Mexico, in its fight against illegal immigration, and threatened the with sanctions, before the broadcast of an interview by the Republican on the Fox News channel, on Wednesday night (22). The Republican will be the guest of one of the main presenters on Americans’ favorite conservative channel. The program airs at 9pm local time (11pm Brasília time).
Trump did not wait for this first interview since his inauguration to speak out. He has done so on several occasions, both in press conferences and on his social network or through his team. The president “signed an executive order to send 1,500 additional troops to the southern border,” said his spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt. To date, the military deployed in that area carries out logistics and transportation support work to assist Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the agency responsible for preventing or denying the passage of immigrants without visas.
The head of American diplomacy, Marco Rubio, promised today “a pragmatic foreign policy”. In the case of Latin America, this will mean, according to him, focusing “on border security” and “stopping illegal and destabilizing immigration, and negotiating the repatriation of illegal immigrants”.
Leigh Laken Riley
Congress approved a law that requires the detention of illegal immigrants accused of certain crimes, including robbery and theft. The law was supported by about 40 Democrats and Trump is expected to enact it immediately, making it the first law he signed in his second term. The Laken Riley law is named after the 22-year-old student killed by Venezuelan José Antonio Ibarra, 26, who was undocumented and wanted for shoplifting. Ibarra was sentenced to life in prison.
The war in Ukraine is another priority for the Republican tycoon, who has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that he will be subject to sanctions if he does not immediately reach a deal to end the war in Ukraine. Before his inauguration, Trump had promised to end the war in Ukraine before taking office, leading to speculation that he might pressure Kiev to make concessions to Moscow. However, in recent hours, he appears to have adopted a tougher tone towards Putin.
Internally, Trump targets diversity programs, which have been closed. Employees of these programs will be on paid leave, said Karoline Leavitt on the social network LGTBQIAPN+.
“This pseudo-bishop (…) was a radical leftist, who hates Trump”, published the president in the early hours of this Wednesday, on Truth Social. “It had an unpleasant tone and was neither convincing nor intelligent,” he added, considering the service “very boring and uninspiring.” “Not very good at her job. She and her church owe an apology to the public,” he said.
During the religious ceremony in Washington, the bishop asked Trump to have “mercy”. “The vast majority of immigrants are not criminals,” he said. On another front, the Republican wants to avenge “the betrayal” that, according to him, constituted the election of Democrat Joe Biden in 2020. To this end, he ordered his team to “actively identify and remove more than a thousand people appointed by the previous administration”. These are people “who are not aligned with our vision”, he explained.
