Acting President of Syria makes 1st International Travel

Ahmed al-Shara landed in Saudi Arabia this Sunday (2.FEV); It was received by the Saudi Heir Prince Mohammed bin Salman

Syria’s interim leader Ahmed Al-Shara arrived in Saudi Arabia on Sunday (2.FEV.2025) on his 1st international trip since taking power. He was accompanied by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.

Al-Shara and Al-Shaibani were greeted by Saudi authorities and heir prince Mohammed Bin Salman. The visit marks a significant step in the attempt of the new Syrian government to obtain regional and international support.

Since Bashar Al-Assad in December 2024 by a coalition of armed groups, the new Syrian administration seeks legitimacy and support for the country’s reconstruction.

Saudi Arabia, one of the main Sunni and economic powers of the region, demonstrated support for the Syrian transition and emphasized the importance of partnership for reconstruction and reintegration of Syria in the international scenario.

In an interview with the Saudi channel Al Arabiyaal-Shara spoke about the essential role of Saudi support and mentioned that there is a “Great investment opportunity”.
