A serious traffic accident involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle took the life of 57-year-old Sebastião Nunes Moreira in the late afternoon of Sunday (16), at Via Verde, near Fourth Bridge, on BR-364, in Rio Branco .

According to witness information, the driver of a white Amarok model truck was driving towards the first district in heavy rain when, when he turned a turn, he lost control of the vehicle, invaded the opposite lane and collided head -on with Sebastião, who was driving a gray Honda Biz 125 motorcycle, plate Mzy-1332.
On impact, the motorcycle and the victim were dragged for several meters. Sebastian’s body suffered multiple fractures and mutilations and was thrown into a forest area on the banks of Via Verde.

The runaway truck came out of the track and stopped at a bluff on the banks of BR-364. The driver, who suffered a dislocation in his hand and some abrasions, remained at the scene.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) sent an advanced support ambulance, but when the paramedics arrived, they could only attest to Sebastião’s death.
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) isolated the area for the expertise. Upon completion of expert work, Sebastião’s body was removed and sent to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) for cadaverous examinations.
The driver was taken to the Flagrant Police Station (Defla) for the proper procedures.
The truck and motorcycle were removed by a winch.
