Ten people are arrested on the first carnival weekend in RJ

Ten people were arrested during the first carnival weekend in Rio de Janeiro. Among them, nine were arrested by the facial recognition system.

This Sunday (2), a fugitive from the state of Minas Gerais was arrested at Praia do Leme, in the south of the state of Rio. Police say the Intelligence Undersecretariat (SSI) and the Special Action Group on Minas Gerais organized crime repression monitored the suspect, who was sought for robbery, gang formation and drug trafficking.

According to the Military Police, in addition to the prisoners, 132 sharp objects were seized.

Already on Saturday (1), military police approached four suspects of theft inside the Ipanema Block, in the south of the state. With the suspects, 17 cell phones, 10 bank cards and a payment machine were found. The occurrence was sent to the 14th Leblon DP.

Police points out that since the facial recognition system was implemented, in December last year, 494 fugitives of justice were located and arrested.
