The village of Cortelha, located inside the municipality of Loulé, will host the brand of brandy and honey on March 8. The event, which will take place in the local pavilion, intends to value two of the most emblematic products of Serra do Caldeirão, traditionally produced with mastery and dedication. These products continue to play a key role in both the social and economic dynamics of the region and in their tourist projection.
The program begins at 9:00, with a pedestrian tour of approximately 11 km, traveling the most hidden tracks in the North Zone of the Parish of Salir. Along the way, participants will have the opportunity to visit the meddron distilleries in full operation and watch live the distillation process of this traditional brandy. Registration for the tour is now open and can be made in.
The arrival of the walkers at the brandy and honey fair is scheduled for 12:00, coinciding with the opening of the exhibitors. Shortly thereafter, in the restoration space, mountain delicacies will begin to be served, made according to traditional recipes and using local and seasonal products. Among the highlighted gastronomic specialties will be the corn porridge and the roasted choriza.
After lunch, the musical animation will take over the event, with the accordions of Francisco and Sérgio Conceição. At 4:00 pm, the University of Algarve is taken to the Tuna for the Senior Age. In the afternoon, the Allcar group will bring the typical sounds of the Alentejo Song, and the musical animation will be extended until night, with the performance of Valter Cabrita.
In addition to the main local producers of brandy and honey, the event will also be attended by farmers and artisans, providing visitors the opportunity to taste and purchase genuine and high quality products.
Following the success of previous editions, the Cortelha Friends Association is preparing another authentic and representative edition of Algarvian traditions.
