Kiev rejects Russia’s claims to its territory, but recognizes that his return will require diplomatic solutions and time.
The Ukrainian government official reiterated on Thursday that Kiev rejected any Russia’s claims to its territory. Ukraine, however, is aware that at present it is not possible to get the occupied territory of Moscow by military force. According to the representative, this will have to take time a diplomatic way, TASR writes based on the Reuters report.
“Ukraine has made it clear that it would not recognize Russia’s rights to our territory,” said the representative in connection with the interviews between Ukrainian and American officials in Saudi Arabia.
“If you are talking about reality that Ukraine cannot now regain all its territory with military force, yes, we understand it. We understand that part of our territory will have to be returned by a diplomatic way, which of course may take longer, ”added the Ukrainian representative.
According to him, Kiev considers the adoption of a proposal for a 30-day ceasefire to be a “constructive compromise”, which is to contribute to progress towards the end of the war.
Russian forces control almost a fifth of the Ukrainian territory after Moscow’s military invasion of February 26, 2022.
