The Commission of Inquiry into the case of the twins approved the report – an alternative version, made by the PSD and CDS – with conclusions and recommendations also of PS and PAN. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa did not comment on the conclusion. Lacerda Sales denies any interference.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa says he accepts but declined to comment on the conclusion that he gave special treatment, even within the law, to children.
“I do not intend to comment. I have nothing to comment, but the Assembly has decided. It is a decision of the Assembly, it is the term of a case and, therefore, we must accept the decision of the Assembly,” said the President of the Republic, who is on a official visit to Slovenia.

But this does not mean that the parties are in accordance with all points. This is the case of the role of António Lacerda Sales in the appointment of the consultation for the children.
The former Secretary of State reacted, in a statement, to the conclusions of the commission and denied any personal or political interference in the case.
Another conclusion that was approved, but also does not generate understanding, is that the Civil House of the President of the Republic dealt with the case in a special way, even within the law.
Along the way was the report written by the deputy of the arrival of the Cristina Rodrigues, who had been appointed rapporteur of the commission. Here, there was consensus among the remaining parties.
