Neymar’s exam improves, but points to uncertainty about his return against Scotland

Neymar underwent a new series of tests this Monday (15) to assess the injury to his right calf that has prevented the player from training with the rest of the Brazilian team since he arrived in the USA to compete in the World Cup.

The player left the hotel in New Jersey to undergo an imaging exam at a nearby clinic, as well as additional evaluations. The results, however, were not satisfactory enough to release the player to enter the physical transition period that serves to, in the future, release him for training with the rest of the group and games.

According to CBF sources, Neymar’s exams showed insufficient and immediate progression to discharge from the injury, but there was “improvement in the recovery of the muscle fiber”. It is also expected that daily physiotherapy work and intensive medical and nutritional monitoring will continue in the coming days.

And the medical team, unlike when the last exam was carried out, did not officially comment on the player’s health condition. “The examination showed good progress in his treatment, within the expected parameters. He will follow the recovery and physical preparation process planned by the Brazilian National Team’s medical committee,” said last week’s statement.

The doubt of doubt

The report also found that Neymar “is no longer against Scotland”, as every day the period between a possible full recovery from the injury and the physical transition becomes shorter and shorter until the last match of the first phase on June 24th. There are eight days between this Tuesday and the day of departure.

Those led by Carlo Ancelotti return to training this Tuesday morning, at CT Red Bull, in New Jersey.

From optimism to pessimism

Neymar’s recovery period estimated by the Brazilian team’s team, doctor, ends next Thursday (18), one day before the match against Haiti. The optimistic period was two weeks, the realistic period was three and the pessimistic period was up to five weeks of recovery.

Neymar has been injured since May 17th after a match against Coritiba in the Brazilian Championship. Tomorrow the star’s injury completes one month.

There is an interest from the CBF in releasing the number 10 shirt as quickly as possible for the games, but the order is one of “extreme caution”. Internally, it is considered that the inadequate treatment of the player’s condition would be risky, as he could be “very important in the next phase of the World Cup”.

Father at the Cup

Neymar will be a father for the fifth time, as announced by his partner Bruna Biancardi. In a video published on YouTube, the couple also revealed the baby’s sex and said they are expecting another girl.

The Brazilian national team striker joked about the fact that he is now the father of four girls: “I’m going to start a band and, from today, it’s going to be Spice Girls.”
