Vice-President two United States, JD Vance

The vice president of, Jd Vance, announced that he will accompany his wife, USHA, on a trip on Friday (28) to the a Danish autonomous territory that President Donald Trump wants to attach. “There was so much expectation for the visit of Usha to Greenland on Friday that I decided that I did not want her to have fun alone, so I will accompany her,” Vance said on a video on social network X. Vance said he will meet with members of the US space force parked on this huge arctic island. He wants to “see what is happening with security,” he said.

The announcement was made a few hours after the Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, criticizing the US second lady’s visit for exerting an “unacceptable pressure” on territory and about her country. On Monday, the White House reported that Usha Vance will visit Greenland from Thursday to Saturday to watch the National Trench race pulled by dogs in Sisimiut, on the northwest coast. Since returning to power in January, Trump has insisted that he wants the United States to take control of Greenland for national security reasons and even refused to rule out the use of force to achieve this goal.

In his video announcement, Vance said other countries considered the possibility of using territory to “threaten the United States, threatening Canada and, of course, threatening the people of Greenland.” Trump also mentioned the possibility of attaching Canada to turn the country into the “51st state” of the United States. “Speaking on behalf of President Trump, we want to reinforce the security of the people of Greenland,” Vance added. Leaders from the United States and Denmark “have ignored Greenland for too long” and “we believe we can take things in a different direction,” he said.
