Call intends to clarify activities of the agency during and after the management of former President Jair Bolsonaro
The Director General of Abin (Brazilian Information Agency), Luiz Fernando Corrêa, was summoned by the PF (Federal Police) to give testimony in the investigation investigating illegal spying accusations. The call aims to clarify the agency’s activities during and after the management of former President Jair Bolsonaro (2018-2022).
The information was released by the blog of Andreia Sadi, from G1this Thursday (15.br.2025). According to the journalist, the director general should be heard on Thursday (17.abr). PF seeks to understand whether government management (PT) has obstructed information on the investigation of “Abin Paralela”which investigates the previous government.
Another point that should be addressed in the testimony Luiz Fernando Corrêa is about the knowledge and possible authorization of the current management of ABIN on possible spying of Paraguay authorities. PF report released in July 2024 showed that “Abin Parallel”, a group suspected of using the agency’s structure to monitored ministers of the Supreme Court (Supreme Court), the federal deputy (PPP-AL) and some journalists.
According to investigations by the Federal Police, the group would have been coordinated by the then Director General of ABIN, Alexandre Ramagem. The group allegedly used the “First Mile” spy software, capable of monitoring the geolocation of cell phones without judicial authorization.
