In a legal maneuver, management has frustrated the councilors that they are (Municipal Council for the Preservation of Historical, Cultural and Environmental Heritage).
Municipal Secretary of Economic Development and Labor and licensed councilor, Rodrigo Goulart (PSD) should continue to occupy the chair, which is from the Legislature quota, by 2026.
For this, the PGM (Attorney General of the Municipality) sent an opinion to the presidency of the City Council defending the maintenance of the secretary.
In the document, the Attorney’s Office argues that the municipal law regulating the appointment in Conpress does not define additional requirement other than the condition of elected councilor.
“It is noteworthy that the exercise of the position of secretary requires the councilman mere license, and not waiver of the mandate in the house of laws, which can thus be resume at any time,” says the opinion prepared by prosecutor José Fernando Ferreira Brega, at the request of Goulart himself.
The position at Conpress, linked to the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, is not paid. But it is coveted because, among other functions, it can deliberate on real estate tipping and define its surrounding area.
In the current legislature, councilors such as Nabil Bonduki (PT), Paulo Frange (MDB), Rubinho Nunes () and Sandra Tadeu (PL) were already claiming the nomination under the expectation that Goulart returned to the legislature.
In a statement, the House reported that the PGM opinion reached President Ricardo Teixeira (Union), who referred to evaluate the Attorney’s Office.
