American president says that during his time in the Italian capital, he also intends to meet with ‘many foreign leaders’ who expressed interest in knowing him
The president of the, arrived on Friday night (25) to Roma to watch the funeral of and also to meet with “many foreign leaders” who expressed interest in knowing him. The Air Force One presidential plane landed around 11 pm local time, and minutes later the Republican descended the stairs with the first lady, Melania Trump. “We are going to Rome, where we will participate in Pope Francis’ funeral. There will be a lot of interest, because we will meet many foreign leaders who want to meet. Commercial agreements are doing very well,” Trump said before boarding Washington.
The funeral of Pope Francis will be held this Saturday (26) in São Pedro Square, no. More than 200,000 people are expected to attend, as well as at least 130 international delegations, several of them large US business partners. Among those present at the ceremony will be the president, in addition to the presidents of Argentina, France and Ukraine, Javier Milei, Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky.
Trump and the first lady will return home on Saturday night. This is the first trip of the American leader in his second presidential term.
