Chinese president makes a series of nods to the region in a speech in Beijing; will open a credit line of US $ 9.2 billion
China’s president, Xi Jinping (CCP), said on the 3rd (13.MAI.2025) that will encourage Chinese companies to increase investments in Latin America and the Caribbean. The statement was given in an opening speech of the China-Celac Forum (Latin American and Caribbean Community).
The Chinese leader made a number of nods for the region in a 15 -minute speech. He said the Asian country will open a new credit line of 66 billion yuans (US $ 9.2 billion) for development projects and expressed the desire to buy more products from Latin American and Caribbean nations.

Criticism of Trump

He repeated several times in the discourse that commercial multilateralism and the creation of a future shared between China and the region are a desire of the Chinese government.
