There are 13 new faces within the ministries announced this week by the government of Luís Montenegro. But there are also changes within secretariats.
With the stir in ministries, also some secretaries of state have changed folder. But there is even a new ministry, which presupposes new faces in the secretariats.
This is the case of the newly created Ministry of State Reform, which will have two new names, and one of them can be a well-known face for those who know the Google Portugal: Bernardo Correia was so far the company’s vice president, as the observer points out. The other name is Paulo Magro da Luz, former counselor of Carlos Coins.
Na Justice There was also a mess: Maria Clara Figueiredo and Maria José Barros, Gonçalo Viegas Pires and Ana Luísa Machado. And at Health Cristina Vaz Tomé is leaving, for the entry of Francisco Rocha Gonçalves, with experience in managing an EPE (public business entity).
In the Ministry of Presidencytwo of the guys are also new: João Valle and Azevedo, which belongs to the paintings of Banco de Portugal but was suspended when Mario Centeno discovered collaborated with the PSD in 2023; and Tiago Macieirinha, who was chief of staff of the Minister of Presidency, António Leitão Amaro.
In defense, debut Nuno Pinheiro Torreswhich is not yet a beginner: he had taken over in past governments the functions of Director General of Defense Policy at the Ministry of National Defense.
Nos Foreign business, Emídio Sousa arrives from another totally different area: the State Secretariat of the Environment. Ana Isabel Xavier was, in turn, Secretary of State for National Defense.
To the Internal administration, enters as reinforcement (joins the names that were already there) Rui Novo Rocha, one of the vice presidents of the PSD.
In the folder that mixes Culture, Sport and Youththe State Secretariat of Higher Education is the care of Claudia Sarrico. In innovation, Ana Paiva is replaced by Helena Cannon.
New face is also the former Ovar-author Salvador Malheiro, Figure already known on the PSD that joins the State Department of Fisheries and the Sea. He was vice president of Rui Rio and was on the list of deputies.
