According to insider information, Washington-China has temporarily allowed the export of rare earths to large US carmakers. At least a few of the licenses granted are valid for six months, two people with the matter said to the Reuters news agency. One of the two explained that the suppliers of General Motors, Ford and Stellantis had received the release for the export of some rare earths on Monday. On Thursday, US President Donald Trump had called China’s head of state XI Jinping.
