The musician Edson Bernardo de Lima, known as Edson Café, died at age 69 after being found unconscious on a street in the city of São Paulo. Former member of the Black Race band, Edson played guitar in the group for over two decades, especially during the 1990s.

According to information from the Public Security Bureau (SSP), the case was registered as a suspected death by the 52nd Police District. The musician was found unconscious on public roads on May 31 and rescued to the Tatuapé Municipal Hospital, where he died.
The body was sent to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML), where it was identified through expert examinations and later released to family members. The São Paulo Civil Police continues to investigate the circumstances of death.
Edson Café had his musical career interrupted after suffering a stroke, which compromised the movements of his arms. The fact occurs shortly before the band came to the state of Acre, to perform at the 20th edition of Expoacre Juruá.
