Israel bombs Lebanon again, in attacks against alleged drone manufacturing plants

The Israeli army assured this morning that its bombings last night against the South Suburbs of Beirut were target manufacturing and storage plants of the Chií Hizbulá group.

“Despite the agreements between Israel and Lebanon, the Hizbulá Air Unit continues to participate in terrorist activities and expand their abilities,” Israeli forces said in a statement.

According to the Army, the group is trying to produce thousands of unmanned aircraft “under the direction and financing of Iranian terrorists, as part of Iran’s efforts to harm the state of Israel.”

The worst bombardment in southern Beirut after high fire

Israel held its worst wave of bombing against the suburbs of southern Beirut, known as the Dahye, since the entry into force of the high fire between the parties more than half a year ago, coinciding with the preparations for the important Muslim holiday of the AID to Adha, or feast of the sacrifice.

Around a dozen bombings reached different points of the Dahye outcoat from 22.00 local time (19.00 GMT), continuing at intervals for at least an hour and a half, in a scenario that was not repeated since the war ended at the end of November. According to Israel, the “activities” of Hizbulá in the attacked places “constitutes a flagrant violation” of the conditions of the high fire agreement.

Despite the high the fire agreed between the parties at the end of November, Israel has continued to bombard the Lebanon regularly, mainly concentrating in the southern region of the country but also reaching the east and the suburbs of Beirut on some occasions.
